Alberta invites workers in healthcare, manufacturing, and agriculture to apply for provincial nomination

Alberta issued 743 invitations to apply for provincial nomination through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program over seven draws held between June 5 and June 15, 2026. The selections targeted workers in healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, the Rural Renewal Stream, and the Alberta Opportunity Stream.

The Alberta Opportunity Stream accounted for the largest share of invitations, representing about 62.2% of all invitations in this series.

Alberta’s June 8–15 selections aligned with its stated priorities for 2026, including health care, manufacturing, agriculture, and Rural Renewal Stream candidates. The June 11 healthcare and June 12 agriculture Priority Sector draws were each the third of their kind in 2026.

As of June 15, Alberta had held 50 selection rounds in 2026 and had issued at least 8,453 invitations to apply for provincial nomination during the year.

Alberta’s 2026 nomination allocation is 6,403 nominations. As of June 16, Alberta had used 2,869 nomination slots, leaving 3,534 remaining.

Alberta has also used nomination spaces outside its regular Provincial Nominee Program allocation for targeted groups, including 50 practice-ready physicians and 12 francophone candidates.

Expressions of Interest and pending applications

As of June 16, Alberta had 38,353 worker expressions of interest in its pool. The Alberta Opportunity Stream accounted for about 63.1% of that total.

The province also listed 1,536 provincial nomination applications as awaiting processing.

For candidates, the figures show that Alberta continues to use targeted selection rounds in priority sectors, while the largest share of recent invitations and expressions of interest remains tied to the Alberta Opportunity Stream.
