Manitoba invites skilled workers recruited through targeted initiatives to apply for provincial nomination

Aug 17, 2026News Briefingwww.cicnews.com

Manitoba’s Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued 53 new invitations to apply (LAA) on 13 August 2026, targeting skilled workers who had already been invited through one of the province’s strategic recruitment initiatives.

Draw details

  • Invitations were issued under both pathways of the Skilled Worker Stream – the Skilled Worker in Manitoba category and the Skilled Worker Overseas category.
  • To be eligible, candidates had to indicate in their Expression of Interest (EOI) that they had received an invitation through a recruitment mission or the now‑expired Temporary Public Policy (TPP) that facilitated work permits for prospective provincial nominees.

Distribution of the 53 LAAs

Initiative LAAs issued
Employer Services 15
Francophone Community 13
Ethnocultural Communities 12
Regional Communities 9
Temporary Public Policy (TPP) 4
Express Entry‑linked (valid profile & job‑seeker code) 6

Employer Services accounted for the largest share (≈28 % of the total).

Why some eligible candidates may not have received an LAA

  • An approved English or French language test was listed, but the test identification number was missing, invalid, or the results had expired.
  • The candidate claimed an invitation through a strategic recruitment initiative but did not provide a valid invitation number.
