  • Bridging open work permit – Provincial nominees who later submit a permanent‑residence application may become eligible for a bridging open work permit.

Options for candidates not invited

Applicants who remain in Manitoba’s Expression of Interest pool may qualify for special work permits under a temporary public policy, provided they:

  1. Hold a Manitoba support letter issued on or before 31 December 2025 that confirms their EOI placement, and
  2. Currently hold, have recently held, or have applied to renew a work permit.

These provisions aim to retain qualified candidates who are out‑of‑status or otherwise at risk of losing their ability to work in Manitoba.
