Immigration NZ Moves Group Visitor Visas to Enhanced Online System

From 20 July 2026, Immigration New Zealand will move Group Visitor Visa and Tour Escort Visitor Visa applications to its enhanced Immigration Online platform as part of a wider digital modernisation programme.

The change applies to the following visa categories:

  • Group Visitor Visa, including General and Approved Destination Status
  • Tour Escort Visitor Visa
  • Visitor Visa for Approved Destination Status Free and Independent Travellers

From 20 July 2026, all new applications for these visa types will automatically be submitted through the upgraded online system.

The enhanced platform is intended to make applications simpler, faster, and easier to manage for applicants, group applicants, tour agencies, and immigration staff.

New system features will include:

  • Clearer application tracking
  • Improved self-service options
  • Online collaboration between group applicants and tour agencies

Immigration New Zealand says the process was developed in consultation with visa processing staff, immigration advisers, and the international tourism sector.

Existing paper-based processes will remain unchanged until further notice.

The move is part of the phased rollout of enhanced Immigration Online, which already supports several visa categories, including visitor, student, work, and permanent resident visas.
