Manitoba invites 77 skilled workers to apply for provincial nomination in latest selection round

Manitoba issued 77 Letters of Advice to Apply on July 2 through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program, inviting skilled workers selected under strategic recruitment initiatives. The draw was the province’s 13th MPNP selection round of 2026.

July 2 draw results

The invitations were issued through the Skilled Worker Stream pathways. To be considered, candidates needed to state in their Expression of Interest profile that they had been invited through a recruitment mission or through the now-expired Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Candidates.

The distribution of Letters of Advice to Apply was:

  • Employer Services: 36
  • Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates: 31
  • Francophone Community: 8
  • Regional Communities: 2

Employer Services accounted for the largest share of invitations at 46.8%, followed by the Temporary Public Policy group at 40.3%.

Of the 77 invitations issued, 15 went to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.

Why some candidates may not have been selected

Manitoba said some candidates may not have received an invitation even if they appeared to meet the draw criteria. This could happen if:

  • the candidate listed an approved third-party English or French language test in their Expression of Interest profile, but the test identification number was missing, invalid, or the results had expired; or
  • the candidate said they had been invited through a strategic recruitment initiative but did not include a valid invitation number.

Temporary Public Policy invitation figures

On May 1, Manitoba announced plans to hold targeted Expression of Interest draws for people who had received Support Letters under the Temporary Public Policy, starting with those approved between April 22 and June 30, 2025.

Since that announcement, Manitoba has issued 579 invitations to people with Support Letters under the Temporary Public Policy. Of those, 74.1% were issued in the first draw after the announcement, held on May 7.

Manitoba’s 2026 nomination activity

As of July 2, the MPNP had issued 1,910 invitations to apply for provincial nomination in 2026.

Manitoba received a 2026 nomination allocation of 6,239 from the federal government. By May 30, the province had nominated 2,165 skilled workers, according to Government of Manitoba figures.

The difference between invitations issued and approved nominations likely reflects carryover from 2025, with some approved nominations connected to Letters of Advice to Apply issued last year.
