  3. Invitation – Be selected in a draw based on the province’s prioritization criteria (e.g., health‑care employment, work outside major urban centres, or graduation from an in‑province post‑secondary institution).
  4. Application – Submit a complete nomination (NLPNP) or endorsement (AIP) application within 60 days of the invitation.
  5. Nomination – Receive a provincial nomination or endorsement certificate after approval.
  6. Federal PR application – Apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residence.

Work‑permit option for in‑Canada nominees

Base PNP nominees who have already submitted a permanent‑residence application can apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) without first receiving an Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR), under a temporary federal measure introduced on June 9 2026. This allows eligible candidates to continue working while their PR application is processed.
