Prince Edward Island held its largest provincial immigration draw of 2026 on June 18, issuing 182 invitations to apply for provincial nomination. The draw targeted in-province candidates working in high-demand occupations and priority sectors, with international graduates from selected PEI institutions also prioritized.
June 18 PEI PNP draw
The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program issued invitations through two streams:
- Labour Impact;
- PEI Express Entry.
The Labour Impact category includes three streams:
- Skilled Worker Stream;
- Critical Worker Stream;
- International Graduate Stream.
International student graduates from the following PEI post-secondary institutions were prioritized:
- University of Prince Edward Island;
- Holland College;
- Collège de l’Île.
The June 18 draw was the largest PEI PNP draw of the year so far.

As of June 18, PEI had issued 658 invitations to apply for provincial nomination in 2026.
All but one of the 2026 draws, the March 20 round, aligned with the province’s published invitation schedule. Each draw used the same selection criteria: candidates working in PEI in occupations and priority sectors with high economic impact, plus prioritization for international graduates from the three named PEI institutions.
Remaining PEI PNP draws expected in 2026
Prince Edward Island plans to hold six more draws in 2026, at a pace of one per month.
The anticipated dates are:
- July 16;
- August 20;
- September 17;
- October 15;
- November 19;
- December 17.
The province describes these dates as tentative and for general informational purposes only. PEI may hold draws earlier, later, or in addition to the listed schedule.
The province has generally followed its announced schedule, doing so for eight of 11 draws in 2025 and five of six draws so far in 2026.
How candidates can be considered
Foreign nationals who want to be considered for a PEI invitation must create an account on the province’s official website and submit an Expression of Interest.
PEI’s Office of Immigration assesses candidates based on how well they match the province’s economic and labour market needs. Profiles are ranked through a points-based system that considers:
- English or French language ability;
- educational background, field of study, and location of studies;
- skills and work experience tied to priority industries or high-demand occupations;
- alignment with PEI’s current labour market goals;
- employment prospects, including a valid PEI job offer or previous Canadian work experience.
Candidates with stronger EOI scores and better prospects for integration into Prince Edward Island are generally better positioned to receive an invitation.
Invited candidates now have 30 calendar days to submit a complete provincial nomination application. This is a reduction from the previous 60-day window.
Successful applicants receive a provincial nomination from PEI. They can then apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada for permanent residence.
