IMI is seeking a full‑time, exclusive contractor to serve as Events Manager, responsible for planning, executing, and expanding the company’s international events program.

Role responsibilities

  • End‑to‑end event management – maintain timelines, track tasks, and ensure all deliverables are completed.
  • Local partner coordination – act as the single point of contact for event companies in each destination.
  • Physical event logistics – manage badges, signage, printed materials, gifts, branded goods, sponsor items, shipping, and last‑minute purchases.
  • Event marketing – create and run social media posts, email campaigns, speaker and sponsor announcements, and other promotional activities.
  • Internal coordination – collaborate with sales, editorial, design, management, and other IMI teams to meet deadlines.
  • On‑site delivery – travel to each event and oversee execution on the ground.
  • Process improvement – develop checklists, templates, automations, and workflows to streamline future events.
  • Program expansion – help design, launch, and refine new event formats as IMI grows its portfolio.

Desired candidate profile

  • Organizational ability – must handle numerous small tasks, deadlines, people, and dependencies simultaneously.
  • High agency – proactively identify needs and act without constant direction.
  • Fast learner – absorb IMI’s complex, small‑team environment quickly.
  • Digital fluency – familiarity with Canva, Mailchimp, Airtable, Stripe, Slack, Zapier; openness to learning new tools.
  • AI‑native or AI‑proficient – willingness to apply large language models and automation to repetitive work, marketing, and event organization.
  • Open‑minded and good taste – comfortable challenging standard conference conventions and ensuring a premium attendee experience.
  • Marketing competence – ability to plan and execute event‑focused marketing campaigns; copywriting experience is a plus.
  • Commercial awareness – understand revenue generation and value delivery for sponsors and attendees.
  • Social capability – comfortable interacting with business owners, investors, lawyers, and senior professionals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Travel readiness – frequent international travel is a core component.
  • Professional English fluency – all work is conducted in English.

Working arrangement

  • Contract type – full‑time independent contractor, exclusive to IMI.
  • Location – remote by default; travel required for events.
  • Compensation – fixed monthly contractor fee plus performance‑based bonuses; IMI covers travel expenses.
  • Scope – role will expand as IMI adds new events and formats.
